Spine Interventional Injections

Radio Frequency Ablation

We utilize the most modern and advanced technology in the field of radio frequency ablation. RFA is one of the most effective treatment methods available for the reduction of pain and improvement in function.

Ultrasound Guided Injections

Ultrasound is a very powerful tool used to identify the best injection site for joint and soft tissue injections. Superior to unguided or "blind" injections, patients have real time confidence that their injections have been delivered to the intended target. The use of ultrasound additionally helps reduce the pain of an injection by allowing the physician to avoid passing through painful tissues.

Electrodiagnostic Testing

Through the use of EMG and Nerve Conduction testing, we are able to accurately identify damaged or entrapped nerves. We can distinguish the location of nerve injury from the neck and low back throughout the length of the nerves as they travel into the arms and legs. Common conditions such as carpal tunnel, radiculopathy, peripheral neuropathy, and other entrapment syndromes can be identified.

Intrathecal Pain Pump Management

Intrathecal pain pump management involves the ongoing care and monitoring of a surgically implanted device that delivers pain medication directly into the spinal fluid. This targeted approach allows for effective pain control with much smaller doses than oral medications, reducing systemic side effects. Management includes regular follow-ups to refill the pump, adjust medication dosage or concentration, assess pain relief, and ensure proper device function.

Single dose trials are also available to assess a patient's candidacy for this therapy.

Spinal Cord Stimulator Trials

Short-term evaluations used to determine whether electrical stimulation of the spinal cord can effectively reduce a patient’s chronic pain before a permanent device is implanted. During the trial, temporary leads are placed near the spinal cord and connected to an external stimulator, allowing patients to test how well the therapy relieves their pain and improves function. The trial typically lasts several days to a week, during which pain levels and activity improvements are closely monitored. Successful trials—those providing significant pain relief—may lead to consideration of a permanent spinal cord stimulator implantation.
