Sacroiliac Joint Injections in Green Bay, WI

Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Injections
The sacroiliac joints connect the base of your spine to your pelvis, and they are a frequently overlooked source of low back pain — SI joint dysfunction is often mistaken for disc or hip problems. Pain typically concentrates on one side of the low back or buttock and may travel into the upper leg, worsening with standing from a seated position, climbing stairs, or lying on the affected side.
Diagnosis and relief together
Like several procedures we offer, an SI joint injection serves double duty. Anesthetic placed precisely inside the joint confirms whether the SI joint is truly your pain source, while anti-inflammatory medication can provide lasting relief. Because the SI joint is deep and irregularly shaped, image guidance is essential to reach it accurately.
Conditions SI joint injections may help
SI joint dysfunction, sacroiliitis (inflammation of the joint), pain following lumbar fusion surgery (the SI joint often takes on extra stress after fusion), arthritis of the SI joint, and one-sided low back or buttock pain that hasn't responded to therapy.
What to expect
The injection is performed in-office under image guidance and takes minutes. You may feel numbness or warmth in the area for a few hours. We'll ask you to note how much relief you feel in the first hours (the diagnostic window) and over the following weeks. Normal light activity typically resumes the next day.
